What this course is
Animation is everywhere: adverts, explainer videos, social media, classrooms. And with AI, you no longer need years of drawing practice to make something that moves. In four days you go from how animation actually works (the trick of the eye that makes still pictures move) to the way professional studios take an idea to a finished piece, to writing AI prompts that produce the shots you have in your head. On the last day you build and present a mini animation of your own. Run by Webbo3 Academy with Aniverse Hub. It is free from start to finish: no fee, no commitment fee, nothing to pay.
What you will be able to do
- Explain how animation creates the illusion of movement: frames, frame rates and persistence of vision
- Recognise the main animation styles and where each one is used
- Walk an idea through the production journey, from concept and script to the finished piece
- Use the core principles of animation to make movement feel real
- Write AI prompts with the six-part formula: subject, action, setting, style, camera and mood
- Plan a short scene shot by shot, then generate, choose and sequence your shots
- Use timing and pacing to make a short animation that holds attention
- Present your own mini animation and take feedback on it
What you will cover
1 level, taught in order.
Four days from how animation works to a finished mini animation made with AI: the illusion of movement, the production journey and its principles, prompts that work, and a live...
Your pod, and the work you will actually build
You are placed with nine other people on this course, with a chat of your own, a pod league table and the same deadlines. A seat is earned rather than handed over: you are screened first, and you say out loud what you are willing to give before anybody is put beside you. It is the difference between studying alone and having nine people notice when you go quiet.
Work you build on your own and hand in: your tutor reads it, marks it out of 100 and writes back. These are the pieces that end up in your portfolio, so they are graded like the real thing rather than ticked off.
One brief, one submission, ten people. The pod builds it together and the grade pays every active member, which means the work has to be divided and someone has to keep it moving. It is the closest thing here to a real team, and employers ask about it.
Every piece of work you hand in and every class you attend pays Skill Points. They move you up the levels, they decide the pod league, and they are part of what your certificate is issued against.
