The short version. We collect what we need to teach you and to prove what you did. We do not sell your data and we never will. Your conversations with our AI tutor are processed by third-party AI providers so she can answer you. You can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected].
1. Who is responsible for your data
Webbo3 Technologies Limited, trading as Webbo3 Academy, is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are registered in Nigeria and our address is Lagos, Nigeria.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to webbo3.com, the Student Portal, the virtual classroom, and the cohort groups we run.
2. What we collect
We collect what you give us, and what the platform records as you use it. Nothing here is bought from a data broker.

3. Why we use it, and on what basis

We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, where it applies to you, the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation.
4. Your AI tutor conversations
This deserves its own section, because it is the part people least expect.
When you talk to Kemi, your message is sent to a third-party AI provider so a reply can be generated. Depending on availability, that provider may be Google (Gemini), Groq, Cerebras, Mistral, DeepSeek, Together AI, OpenRouter, SambaNova, NVIDIA or GitHub Models. We send your question and the lesson context; we do not send your email address, phone number or payment details.
These providers process the request under their own terms. We choose providers that do not train their models on API traffic by default, but we cannot audit them, so please treat that chat as you would any online service: do not put passwords, bank details, medical information or somebody else's personal data into it.
The transcript is stored on your account. It is how your virtual class attendance and progress are measured, and your tutor can read it.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent it, and we do not share it for anybody else's advertising.
We share what is necessary with the services that make the platform work:
- Railway — hosting and our database.
- Cloudinary — storing files and images you upload.
- Resend and Brevo — sending our email.
- Flutterwave and Paystack — taking payments.
- Google — Meet for live classes, and Gemini as an AI provider.
- WhatsApp (Meta) — cohort groups and mentor contact, where you join them.
- The AI providers listed in section 4.
We also share your name and progress with your tutor, your mentor and, where you are in one, the members of your pod — because that is what teaching is. Where we run a course with a partner organisation, we tell you who they are on the course page, and we share only what that partnership needs.
We will disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
6. Where your data goes
Several of the services above operate outside Nigeria, so your data is transferred and processed abroad. We use providers that commit to recognised protections for international transfers, and we share the minimum each one needs.
7. How long we keep it

8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you, as a copy you can keep.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your data. We will, except where we must keep something — financial records, or a certificate that has to stay verifiable — and we will tell you exactly what we kept and why.
- Stop a particular use, such as marketing, while keeping your account.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to processing we do on the basis of legitimate interest.
Email [email protected] with the request. We answer within 30 days and we do not charge for it. If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
9. How we protect it
- Passwords are hashed, never stored in a readable form, and cannot be recovered — only reset.
- Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit.
- Access to student data is limited to the staff who need it to do their job.
- Card details never reach our servers.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the regulator, and we will tell you what actually happened rather than a form of words.
10. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, and none of them are for advertising:
- Session cookie — keeps you logged in. The site cannot work without it.
- Preference storage — remembers things like your dark-mode choice, in your browser.
Third-party services embedded in our pages, such as an embedded video, may set their own cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to stay logged in.
11. Children
Our platform is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a child has given us their data, write to us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top always says when it last changed, and where a change materially affects you we will email you before it takes effect rather than quietly updating the page.
