1. Who we are, and what this covers
Webbo3 Academy is the education brand of Webbo3 Technologies Limited, a company registered in Nigeria. In this document, "we", "us" and "the Academy" mean that company; "you" means the person using our platform.
These Terms apply to webbo3.com, to your Student Portal, to the virtual classroom, to our live classes, and to every course, cohort, pod and community group we run. By creating an account, applying to a course, or attending a class, you agree to them.
If you do not agree to them, do not create an account. If you have already created one and change your mind, write to [email protected] and we will close it.
2. Your account
You need an account to study with us. When you create one you agree that:
- The details you give us are true, and you keep your email address and phone number current. Official communication — admission letters, class changes, results — is issued to them.
- The account is yours alone. You do not share your password, and you do not let anybody else attend classes, sit assessments or submit work as you.
- You are at least 16 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must be aware that you are studying with us and content for you to do so.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us immediately if you think somebody else has access to it.
One person, one account. We match accounts on your email address and enforce it in the database. If you have ended up with two, tell us and we will merge them rather than leaving your record split across both.
3. Admission, cohorts and places
Admission is a decision, not a purchase. Applying does not guarantee a place. Where a course runs an entrance test or a commitment exam, admission follows the result, and a borderline result is reviewed by a person before anything is decided.
A place is confirmed by your Letter of Admission, which we issue under a reference and send to your registered email. Until you have that letter, you do not have a place.
Where a cohort asks for a commitment fee, the offer of admission carries a deadline. If the deadline passes without settlement, the place is released and offered to somebody else. We tell you the deadline in the offer, and we do not release a place without having told you first.
Courses run in cohorts with limited capacity. We may close admissions to a course at any time, and a closed course simply stops accepting new applications — it changes nothing for students already on it.
4. Fees, payments and refunds
What a course costs is stated on its page before you apply. Some of our courses are free. Where a fee applies, it may be a commitment fee that reserves your place, a subscription that keeps your Student Portal open, or a course fee — the course page says which.
Payments are taken through our payment providers, Flutterwave and Paystack. We do not see or store your full card details; those stay with the provider. We store the amount, the reference, the date and the outcome, because that is our record that you paid.
Refunds
- A commitment fee is what it says: a commitment. It is refundable within seven days of payment if you have not yet started classes.
- A subscription is refundable for the unused part of the current period if you cancel and have not used the portal in that period.
- If we cancel a cohort before it starts, you get a full refund. That one is not discretionary.
- We do not refund on the basis of not having attended. A place you were given and did not use is a place somebody else could have had.
Refunds are recorded against the original payment and returned by the same route. Ask for one by writing to [email protected] with your admission reference.
5. What we expect of you
Consistency is the thing that decides who finishes, so it is the thing we ask for. As a student you agree to:
- Attend your live classes, and tell your tutor before a class you cannot make rather than after it.
- Submit your assignments by their deadlines, and ask for more time before a deadline passes rather than after.
- Present only your own work. Plagiarism, or having somebody else sit an assessment for you, ends your place.
- Reply to messages from your mentor and in your cohort group. We cannot help somebody we cannot reach.
- Treat tutors, staff and other students with respect, in every class, pod, group and channel we run.
Where you have signed a Consistency Undertaking as part of your admission, it sits alongside these Terms and says the same things in more detail.
6. What is not allowed
You must not:
- Share, resell, republish or upload our course materials, recordings, assessments or question banks anywhere, to anyone, for any reason.
- Record a live class or a mentoring session without the consent of everyone in it.
- Harass, bully, threaten or discriminate against anyone on our platform or in any group we run.
- Attempt to break, probe, overload or gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, or to another person's account.
- Use our AI tutor to generate work you then submit as your own, or to attempt to extract our teaching material in bulk.
- Use the platform for anything unlawful, or to impersonate anybody.
7. Course material and who owns what
Everything we teach with — lessons, slides, videos, blog readings, code challenges, assessments, the AI tutor's scripts, our name and our logo — belongs to Webbo3 Technologies Limited or to whoever licensed it to us. Being admitted gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it while you study with us, and nothing more.
What you make stays yours. Your assignments, projects, code and portfolio work belong to you. You give us permission to store them, mark them, and show them to your tutor and mentor for the purpose of teaching you. We will ask you separately, and you can say no, before we use any of your work publicly — in marketing, on the site, or as an example for another cohort.
8. Kemi, our AI tutor
Kemi is an AI. She is genuinely useful — she teaches the same material as your live class, she is available at any hour, and she is patient in a way a timetable cannot be. She is also, like every AI, capable of being confidently wrong.
- Treat what Kemi tells you as teaching, not as professional advice, and check anything that matters against your tutor or the course material.
- Your conversations with Kemi are processed by third-party AI providers in order to generate a reply. Do not put anything into that chat you would not want processed outside our systems — including passwords, bank details, or somebody else's personal information.
- Your sessions with Kemi are recorded on your account. They are how your virtual class attendance and progress are measured, and your tutor can see them.
9. Skill Points, certificates and results
Skill Points are our record of your consistency. They are earned by attending, submitting and taking part. They are not money, they have no cash value, they cannot be bought, transferred or exchanged, and we may adjust a balance where it was awarded in error or obtained dishonestly.
A certificate is issued on merit. It requires the class attendance and the Skill Point threshold your course sets, and those thresholds are published to you before you start. A certificate carries a verification reference and we may withdraw one obtained through plagiarism or impersonation.
We do not guarantee a job. We are building employer partnerships and we introduce graduates to them, but nothing on this platform is a promise of employment.
10. Changes to a course
We may change class schedules, curriculum, tutors or platform features where we need to. Where a change materially affects a course you are on, we will give you reasonable notice and explain why. We may also suspend or discontinue a course; if we do so mid-cohort, we will tell you what happens to your place and to anything you have paid.
11. Suspending or ending your place
We may suspend or withdraw your place for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms — plagiarism, impersonation, harassment, sharing course material, or persistent absence and silence. Except where the breach is serious enough to act immediately, we will speak to you first and give you a chance to put it right.
You can leave at any time by writing to [email protected]. Ending your place ends your access to classes and to the portal. It does not delete your record of what you did — see the Privacy Policy for how long we keep it and how to ask us to erase it.
12. Availability and liability
We work to keep the platform up, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Classes depend on third-party services — Google Meet, WhatsApp, our hosting and AI providers — and an outage at one of them is outside our control. Where a class is lost to one, we reschedule it.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit or opportunity, or for loss of data you did not keep a copy of. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page always says when they last changed. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that means you accept the change.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Before going to court, please write to us. Most things are resolved by somebody reading the message and fixing the problem.
