Two weeks, intensive. A two-week intensive where we train you on the system, and you work while you are being trained. You are expected to take initiative inside those two weeks, not to wait until they are over.
Daily availability. You must be available every day for the duration of the training. This is not a weekend programme and it is not something you fit around a full-time job.
Stipend support during training. You are supported for the two weeks. Stipend support runs for the duration of the training, so being in Labs does not cost you money to show up. It is support while you train, not a salary; the salary comes at conversion.
Then it is real work. Anybody who qualifies after the two weeks moves into execution. No more training. The work is live, it ships, and it belongs to you.

Section 04

Aptitude

8 questions. There is nothing to revise and nothing to look up. Every one of them puts you somewhere with a deadline and nobody to ask, and asks what you would do.

Answer as you would actually behave, not as you think we want. We are hiring for the two weeks where nobody will be checking on you, and the wrong answers in here are all reasonable-sounding ones.

It is 9pm. You find that something you are responsible for is broken, and 400 people will see it at 8am tomorrow. Your lead has been offline for two hours and is not replying.

Wait for your lead. It is their call to make, not yours. Fix what you can now, write down exactly what you changed and why, and send it so it is the first thing they read in the morning. Post in the group asking whether anybody else has noticed it. Rebuild the whole thing overnight so it comes back better than it was.

You are given a task with no brief, no example and no deadline. The person who gave it to you is travelling for three days.

Wait until they are back, so you do not build the wrong thing. Ask five clarifying questions and hold until all five are answered. Write down the version of the task you believe is right, state your assumptions in one message, start, and have a first pass ready before they land. Do the smallest possible reading of it, so you cannot be blamed.

A decision you pushed for went badly and cost the team a week.

Set out the reasons it was not really your fault. Say nothing and let it pass. Bringing it up only draws attention. Escalate it so somebody more senior takes ownership of the outcome. Say plainly that it was your call, what you know now that you did not then, and what you would do differently, then propose the recovery.

Four things are due and there is only time for two. Nobody is available to prioritise for you.

Do the two quickest, so the number of open items comes down fastest. Do the two that most affect students or revenue, and tell the owners of the other two now, before they are late, with a date. Do all four at half quality so nothing is technically missed. Do them in the order they arrived. That is the fairest rule.

A routine you own takes three hours every single day. You have run it that way for two weeks.

Keep going. It works, and changing it risks breaking it. Ask for a second person to be assigned to help you carry it. Raise it at the next monthly meeting so it can be discussed properly. Spend a day finding what repeats, automate or template those parts, cut the three hours down, and show the team the new process.

You are asked to find funding for an African edtech company at pre-seed. Where do you start?

Email every investor on a list of 200. It is a numbers game. Apply for every open grant you can find, then see what lands. Shortlist by stage, sector, geography and cheque size, find who inside each one leads those deals, and find the real reason each would care about us. Wait until we have revenue. Nobody funds pre-revenue seriously.

You find a report saying African edtech will be worth $X billion by 2030. Before it goes in a deck:

Cite it. It is published, and the source is named. Check who produced it, who paid for it, what they counted as "edtech", and whether the figure is a forecast or a measurement, then decide whether it survives a hard question. Round it down so the claim is defensible if challenged. Find a second article saying the same thing and cite both.

Three weeks of outreach and not a single reply.

Keep sending. Volume is what eventually breaks through. Conclude the market is not interested and report that finding. Ask the founder to send it instead. It will carry more weight. Change one variable at a time (the target, the opening line, the ask), measure which change moves reply rate, and report what you learned.

Section 05

Two scenarios

These are read by a person, and they carry more weight than the section above. There is no correct answer to either. We are reading how you think.

1. Your first 48 hours inside Webbo3 Labs, and nobody assigns you anything. Tell us exactly what you do, in order, and what exists at the end of those 48 hours that did not exist before. * Be specific. Name the actual first thing you would open. Minimum 300 characters.

2. Name one real funding route (a fund, grant, accelerator or programme) you believe Webbo3 could realistically win in the next six months. Say why it fits, who inside it decides, and the first three steps you take. * Name it. A real one. This question is checking whether you will go and look. Minimum 300 characters.

Section 06

The terms

Three separate boxes, because these are three separate things to agree to.

I will be available every day of the 2-week training. I understand this is a daily commitment, not a weekend programme, and that missing days is grounds for being dropped. I understand how pay works here. Stipend support runs for the 2 weeks of training, so showing up does not cost me money. I understand that is support while I train and not a salary, and that full-time pay comes only on conversion after one month, on the strength of what I contribute. I accept how the programme is run. Meetings are attended, deadlines are met, and the rules of the company apply to me. Everything here is treated as official company work, because that is what it is.
